The Friends of MFPL announce the annual "Fun Fan Fiction" Contest. MFPL challenges Milton high school students to stretch their creativity to enhance or change a work of fiction by adding a character, changing an ending or amending the plot of a work of fiction. The Friends judge these works based on originality, how the changes enhance the existing work, and how close the writing style stays to the original work.

Submissions are now being accepted through Friday, February 10, 2012. Entries can be sent directly to Milton Free Public Library in Milton Mills, Nute Library, or given to one of the English teachers at Nute High School. Three cash prizes will be awarded for fiction and this year an award will also be given to best Manga or Graphic Novel fan fiction.

Prizes will be awarded during "Nute Week" (February 24) celebrations in the Nute High School gymnasium. All high students from Milton are encouraged to enter.
